How InsureGrades works

One directory, two sides. Consumers check an agent's license before they call. Agents prove their license once and keep the proof current.

For consumers

Find an agent you can check

  1. 1

Search by name, state or city

Browse agents licensed in or based in your state. Listings come from state public license records; verified agents always rank first.

  2. 2

    Read the license record

Every profile shows the states the agent is licensed in, the lines of authority, the license status and the date the record was last updated. Verified profiles add the date of the NIPR check.

  3. 3

Compare ratings and the compliance score

Client ratings cover responsiveness, clarity, claims support and trust. Professional and Elite profiles also show a compliance score computed from verifiable license facts.

  4. 4

    Reach out, then rate

Request a quote from a claimed profile with no account needed. After you have worked with an agent, rate them from their profile; ratings publish immediately and stay anonymous.

For agents

Get verified and stay verified

  1. 1

Claim your listing or sign up

If a profile built from state records already carries your name, claim it. Otherwise create an account and pick a plan: Starter, Professional or Elite. Every plan includes the verified badge.

  2. 2

    Enter your NPN

InsureGrades checks your license against the National Insurance Producer Registry: active status, name match and lines of authority in every state where you hold a license. A clean match completes in under three minutes.

  3. 3

    Confirm it is you

The first time a profile is verified, a one-time code goes to the business email on your NIPR record. If NIPR has no email on file, the verification goes to manual review within 24 hours.

  4. 4

Your profile and badge go live

The public profile shows the verified badge, your license table and your ratings. The embeddable badge works on your website, email signature and LinkedIn, and goes grey the moment a subscription or license lapses.

  5. 5

    Stay current

Expiration reminders arrive at 90, 60 and 30 days. Professional and Elite plans add ongoing monitoring through NIPR change alerts, the compliance score and CE tracking.
